Public First Action and Defending Our Values Launch First Ads Supporting Responsible AI Policy

Washington, D.C. — Public First Action today announced its first advertising campaign  as it begins elevating the public’s concerns surrounding artificial intelligence policy.

The first ad, launched by Public First Action, is running in Tennessee and highlights the work of Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) to protect children online and support American workers as artificial intelligence becomes more present in the economy. The ad thanks Blackburn for her leadership on the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and the TRUMP America AI Act, which focus on child safety, transparency, and accountability in the AI sector. Led by former U.S. Representatives Chris Stewart (R-UT) and Brad Carson (D-OK), Public First Action is a non-profit committed to educating Americans on key AI issues and advancing an AI public policy agenda that prioritizes the public interest and promotes transparency and safeguards for industry.

Separately, Defending Our Values PAC, an independent effort led by Rep. Stewart, has launched ads in the Nebraska Senate race backing Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE), a strong advocate for controls that keep advanced AI chips out of the hands of adversaries. The ad marks the first paid communication by Defending Our Values PAC this cycle and reflects a commitment to elevating candidates who support responsible AI policy and safeguards in the public interest.

The Blackburn and Ricketts ads each mark the beginning of a broader effort to engage voters and policymakers on the real world implications of artificial intelligence across the economy, national security, and everyday life.

  • Brendan Parets as General Counsel. Parets previously served as special counsel at Covington & Burling LLP, Senate Republican leadership staff, and chief counsel to Senator Lindsey Graham's 2016 presidential campaign.
